Health, Safety and Risk Management Training…the missing piece to the camp puzzle.

There are many components that make up a successful camping operation. Each effort we make is a piece of an elaborate puzzle that we work so hard to piece together each year into something we call camp.

One of the key pieces often overlooked in this puzzle is health, safety and risk management. Some of us just don’t have time of it. Others just don’t know where to begin with such vast topics. Most of us touch on these topics briefly and sporadically in some of our camp policies and staff training efforts.

 

But the time has come to move away from the mediocrity that is often camp health and safety and jump right it. We have the lives of children, teens and young adults in our care. Nothing is more precious than the health and well being of the sons, daughters, grand children and friends that form our camp communities.
