  Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does a Safe Camp Assessment compare to standards visit conducted by a state or provincial camping association?

A: A Safe Camp Assessment compliments a state or provincial camping association accreditation process. Camps that are accredited will find that the Safe Camp Program helps them to dig deeper into camp health and safety. Camp’s that are not accredited will find Safe Camp to be a positive exercise and will come away from the experience feeling enlightened and confident in the direction that need to take to ensure the safety of their staff and guests.

Q: Can Safe Camp replace the accreditation status we have or hope to have with a state or provincial camping association?

A: Our recommendation is that you work towards accreditation as a first priority. Then take advantage of Safe Camp to take your health and safety efforts to the next level.

Q:: How exactly does a Safe Camp Assessment work?

A: It’s all about these three simple steps: Assess, Report and Improve.
